Morning Sunlight Benefits us by strengthens various systems in our body. Therefore, people who are more exposed to sunlight have improved brain function apart from healthy bones and immunity. Sunlight helps in increasing nerve cell growth in the hippocampus area of the brain.
We all know the fact that the sun is the source of life of many living things and that includes us humans. The sun gives us heat and light. In our case, it also helps us synthesize vitamin D.
Vitamin D is used by our body to balance the levels of calcium and phosphorus in our bloodstream and bones. It is used as a means for calcium to be stored in the bones to make it strong. The ultraviolet rays from the sun also help destroy some germs and bacteria.
Our bodies need vitamin D for a number of bodily functions, skeletal strength being one of them. Other than in some foods we get most of our natural vitamin D from sunlight, so it is important to spend some time in the sun each day if possible.
But high intensity sunlight has a lot of ultraviolet radiation in it, and this can burn the skin and too much exposure can cause skin cancers. Aside from this, just spending too much time in such intense sunlight and heat can also burn you — back to the dark skin v lighter skin point from above.
So it is a trade off — in the morning or further north or south you can spend more time in the Sun, at midday and especially if close to the equator, or at least further south in your own country, or north if you are in the Southern Hemisphere (say, southern states in the US, Spain in Europe, northern Australia as compared to Denmark, Washington, or Tasmania).
If you are Scandinavian and are visiting Hawaii you maybe best to stay out of the Sun as much as possible, but if you are from Tanzania and are on holiday in Iceland, not so much of a problem.

Also, “sunlight decreases the risk of depression in those at risk of seasonal affective disorder (SAD),” adds Dr. Roizen.
Sunlight can kill bacteria present in dust particles and other germs that could be spread around your family. It is the ultraviolet rays in sunlight that act as a natural antiseptic that will improve your home environment.
To get the most out of the sun, hang blankets and quilts or other items outside in the sunshine for a few hours to kill any virus, bacteria or mold on them. Killing germs is only one health benefit that natural light offers but is a great start to keeping your family safe and healthy.

Sun helps us in maintaining a normal sleep cycle or a normal circadian rhythm as we call it scientifically. When sunlight hits the eye, the production of melatonin from the pineal gland of the brain is shut down. This melatonin is responsible for making us feel sleepy and drowsy.
The sunlight signals the brain that its day and time to get up. When sun goes down, the brain stops getting that signal and you start feeling sleepy again. This is the reason why you have to pull up curtains if you want to sleep during day time.
